Also Watch for a new gallery guide that will be published and out for the Memorial Day weekend and other events throughout the summer months. | ![]() Special Feature Four New Galleries Join Upcoming Art Walk If you like looking at paintings, sculpture, photography, glass work, wearable art, custom furniture, pottery, wood art, jewelry, and other wonderful fine art and craft work, you’re going to love this year’s Art Walk part of the Port Orford Cedar Festival on Memorial Day weekend. Four new galleries have joined in the fun, making eight delightful places for you to stroll, sip beverages and visit with friends and family on Saturday, May 28, 2-5pm. New this year is Freshwater Gallery, at 236B Hwy 101, next to Paula’s Bistro. Run by artists Darren Evans and Mittie Hellmich, they will be showing their contemporary paintings, as well as sculpture, jewelry, and hand painted wear. Also new to Port Orford is Dana’s Trading Post, at 267 Hwy 101, in what used to be the Coast Candle building. They will be carrying the driftwood sculptures and wood art of owner, Denny Dana and works by other artists and antiques. The triAngle Square Art will be reopening with two new proprietors, Karen Auborn and Elaine Roemen, both well-known local artists. The interior is undergoing extensive remodeling and they hope to be open by Memorial Day Weekend to take part in the Art Walk. The gallery is located at 343 Hwy 101 next to Timeworn Treasures. Patricia Rice has opened The Artist’s Nook & Gifts in the building on the bend in our main street (755 Hwy 101). She will be featuring acrylic & watercolor paintings and unique gifts. These four new galleries join the Hawthorne Gallery, Point B Studio, Cook Gallery and Johnson Gallery on the gallery Art Walk this year on the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend from 2pm to 5pm.
