IT’S TIME TO LIGHT UP THE PORT ORFORD CRAB POT TREE!

Join us on Saturday, November 29, 2025, starting at 5pm, for the 14th annual Port Orford Crab Pot Tree Lighting Party. This beloved community gathering is happening next to Sea Wolf Books right in the heart of downtown – the year-round location of the Crab Pot Tree.

The award-winning Port Orford Crab Pot Tree, an homage to our local fleet of commercial crabbers, will be lit up at nautical twilight (around 5:30pm), in celebration of the imminent opening of crab season. The tree will stay illuminated until New Year’s Day.

This FREE family-friendly, doggie-friendly, festive community event includes holiday music, caroling, wine, cider, holiday treats galore and the warm pleasure of camaraderie. Come sing favorite carols along with Bing Crosby, James Taylor, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, and fellow Port Orfordians!

Come take photos of your families, friends, loved ones (and, of course, take selfies) with the glowing tree as your backdrop!

Sea Wolf Books will be open for business with extended hours from 5pm to 6:30pm – all during the party. Great time to buy books and other gifts!

Crappy weather, heavy wind with rain, will necessitate cancellation of the festivities. But the intrepid Arts Council Elves will still plug in the tree! Keep your fingers crossed for great weather!
