Who’s ready to learn The Witches Dance?????
Who’s ready to join the Port Orford Witches Dance Group?

The Port Orford Arts Council is offering free dance classes to anyone, all genders, all ages, anyone who wants to learn the wacky and wonderful Witches Dance.

The Witches Dance started in Germany in 2016 when the women of the Wolfshäger Hexenbrut, in English, The Wolf Hunter’s Coven, performed a flash mob-styled dance at a Walpurgis celebration. The video of the dance went viral and made waves around the world. Thousands of groups from all over the globe have taken up the dance and performed it live.

In America, the dances are typically scheduled for Samhain, October 31st, Halloween. And that’s exactly what we have planned this year! There are Witches Dance groups all around Oregon and we want to make it happen here in Port Orford.

Just watch one video of a group doing this dance and you will be hooked!!!!! Join us starting Tuesday, September 26th at 6pm in the Big Room at the Port Orford Library for the first of 5 weekly dance classes. (Note: No dance practice on October 17.)

No registration needed. Just show up and prepare to have a blast! Bring a broom, staff, or cane and wear comfortable shoes.
