Redfish Music Festival

The Redfish Music Festival (named after the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve) hosts a week long music festival the first week of August on the beautiful southern Oregon coast in Port Orford, Oregon. The Festival was designed by musician Fritz Gearhart to include public concerts and an intensive week of classical music training for students studying violin, viola and cello. In residence for the week, a faculty of internationally renowned artists will work with our students and perform in festival concerts. The Redfish Music Festival also presents concerts throughout the winter and spring bringing quality classical music to the south coast region of Oregon.

Concerts and open teaching events will be held in various locations within the charming coastal towns of Port Orford, Bandon and Langlois. Venues include Zion Lutheran Church in Port Orford, the Port Orford Public Library, the Bandon Sprague Theater, the Crescent City Cultural Center and the unique Langlois Cheese Factory event space. The festival also features some outdoor events including a live concert at the oceanfront Castaway Motel.

An Evening with Leonard & Lon

Only a troubadour as talented as Lon Goddard can do justice to the poetic brilliance of the songs of Leonard Cohen, one of the greatest poet/songwriters of the 20th & 21st centuries.

The intimacy and quiet dignity of the Sanctuary at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Port Orford is an ideal setting to hear Lon Goddard perform Cohen’s masterpieces. Lon’s wonderful voice and guitar work, his deep personal and artistic connection to Cohen (he was Cohen’s publicist in Europe), and his profound love of the music, all work synergistically to create glorious covers of Leonard’s songs.

If you love Leonard Cohen, this evening was meant for YOU!

Saturday, May 20th
5pm – doors open
6pm – performance begins
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and libations
